We came here as a group of 7 celebrating a 40th birthday in the area. Did the Malibu Wine Tour and spent the rest of the day and night at hotel June. We had two king rooms and a connected bunk room, absolutely perfect for the group and celebration festivities. Such a cute, intimate property. Prices are higher but appropriately hyped for the area, services, amenities and intimate atmosphere. Service making it a special occasion was 10/10. Shout out to Kieran for hosting us!

We stayed at June this past weekend and we loved this little hotel. We payed almost $500 for one night but we ended up feeling it was worth it. The room is super cute with a surfer vibe, a comfortable bed and just a very relaxing atmosphere. I love how covered in plants it is and the scent of Jazmin in the air. The best part is that accepted our mini Schnauzer who very much enjoyed the small patio the room has. We would come back to this cute place.

We staying one night while traveling south from Santa Barbara. Staff was welcoming and very gracious. This is a cool little retro motel with boutique touches. We wish we could find more of these in our travels vs big chain hotels. Starbucks and really nice grocer 3 mins down the road sad weâre able to walk across (busy but fine) route 1 to an amazing authentic Italian restaurant - Givaniâs.

We stayed at Hotel June for a couple of nights in January while visiting family, and it completely lived up to the relaxed, thoughtful vibe itâs going for. It felt calm, intentional, and tasteful - not just a place to sleep, but a place connected to its surroundings and stories. Kieran at the front desk was truly outstanding. He was always gracious and welcoming, and I genuinely felt that he enjoyed being there and connecting with guests. I never once felt like I was bothering him (which is rare and so refreshing compared to other hotels). Whether sharing local recommendations or just chatting, he made the experience feel personal and unhurried, and really embodies the spirit of the hotel. The rooms were simple, clean, and quietly luxurious â great bath products, snacks, a yoga mat, and even a hammock on the porch made it feel intentional and comfortable without being overdone. I felt very safe during my stay (thereâs 24/7 security), though my only small suggestions would be adding a light switch by the bed and a deadbolt on the door for extra peace of mind. Overall, a hidden gem with a great vibe. Iâd absolutely stay here again.

No, do not stay here. No hot water No working wireless No coffee/tea in the room No safety bolt on the front door No carpet Management has tried hard to make it look cute, but you canât put a bow on a pig.

Do not stay here! Overpriced for zero amenities and poor customer service. I get they can't help the loud road noise from the PCH, but the rest is complete negligence. There is no one at the front desk/office after 5 pm, so we had to do a weird self check in. I was grateful I asked to have physical keys left outside our door as we never could get the mobile key to work & parking is scary and no lights at night with potted cactus in the walking dark path at night that we almost ran into. The doors and walls are disgustingly dirty in the room and bathroom. We didn't want to touch the bathroom door with our hands, it's that gross. The shower seal on the glass was missing so it would flood the bathroom floor every time we showered. They knowingly put us in a room with a broken ground floor window & we had to sleep with it open all night since there wouldn't be anyone in the office until the next morning. When we tried to fix it, we discovered they had placed blue painters tape on the outside in hopes it'd stay closed. We had multiple spiders in our room I'm guessing due to the window being open. They weren't able to move us rooms since they were all booked, so they put more tape over our window to hold it shut & told us not worry as their hotel was "safe". Our private outside patio had terribly soiled cushions, the ground was dirty with leaves, & our doormat consisted of a 12"x12" dirty carpet remnant. The pool was not heated as advertised and was very dirty with stuff floating in it. The cushions in the pool area were also very soiled & the entire pool area looked as if it had been abandoned. The complimentary bikes consist of 1 bike with flat tires. The coffee and tea service as advertised, consisted of one dirty counter with a very small pot of coffee with 1/2 cup of luke warm coffee in it. Our keys quit working, so we were locked out of our room for 2 hours waiting for staff to arrive after several phone calls. We ended up having to call the West LA location to speak to a manager to get us help in Malibu as the staff was not there at 7:30 as posted on the door. We were only offered 15% compensation, but we haven't received confirmation that we will receive that. This was the strangest hotel experience we had ever encountered and we have traveled all the world. This is first review I have ever left, but I feel like I have to, to save others from the same experience.

On arrival our private patio was dirty with soiled cushions with a dirty small carpet remnant as a door mat, the doors and walls in the rooms were disgustingly dirty, the pool was not heated & dirty, and the entire pool area looks abandoned and dirty. There is no place to put your stuff away in the room and no safe for your valuables. The "coffee and tea service" is a dirty counter with a small pot for coffee but get this... no coffee & no staff to request more. There is no staff from 5 pm to 7:30 am, so you're on your own if you run into any issues. We were locked out of our room for 2 hours since our keys quit working with no one at the front office. When we found our window broken before going to sleep. We had to leave it open over night as there was no one to call, again. We discovered they knowingly placed us in there with a broken window after seeing they had tried to close it with blue painters tape on the outside. We kept finding spiders in our room I'm guessing from the window being open. There was a note on the front door stating they will be back at 7:30 am, but at 8:30 am still no staff to be found anywhere on property & no answer from the phone number posted. You aren't walking distance to restaurant or beaches as the website alludes to. The complimentary bikes was 1 bike with flat tires & I don't know where you would possibly bike to from the hotel's location. The website paints this picture of a trendy boutique hotel with great amenities. I'm guessing at one point it was but plain and simple this is a rundown hotel, with zero amenities, poor customer service and no customer service most of the time, and very loud road noise from the PCH. This was the strangest and worst hotel experience I have ever had. I highly discourage staying here.

A Hidden Gem in Malibu â The Heartfelt Elegance of Hotel June đŽ||After living in Los Angeles for over 15 years and traveling across the globe, Iâve developed a pretty good sense for places that donât just offer bedsâbut stories. And this past weekend, I stumbled upon one of those rare gems that make you pause, breathe deeper, and whisper to yourself, âThis⊠this is special.â||Let me introduce you to Hotel June Malibuâa boutique hideaway with only 13 rooms, tucked between coastal beauty and warm California sunshine. But donât let the size fool you. What it lacks in scale, it more than makes up for in soul.||The rooms? Thoughtfully designed, with those subtle touches that whisper good taste instead of shouting trends. Think: crisp linens, warm light, and materials that feel like someone cared. The kind of care you rarely find in cookie-cutter resorts.||The staff? Some of the kindest Iâve met. Genuinely attentive, beautifully relaxedâlike Malibu itself. From check-in to breakfast by the pool, everything felt effortless, kind, and warmly human.||Speaking of the pool: itâs not just a place to dip your toesâitâs a sanctuary. A rare space where conversation flows slower, and even your iPhone seems to know itâs time to switch off.||I came for a short escape and left with a long-term plan. Weâll be returning soon for a full retreat and private buyout, because letâs be honest: when you find a place that blends design, location, and soul with this kind of precisionâyou donât just visit. You commit.||Hotel June isnât just a stay. Itâs a feeling.|And feelings are what great hotels should be made of.||Perfect for couples, creative souls, and anyone needing a pause button in the chaos of life.|Highly recommendedâwith heart.||Holger Bröer|(Founder | Coach | Curious Traveler)
